Prof. Thomas J. Salinas, DDS is Professor of Dentistry at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.
He received his prosthodontic and undergraduate training at Louisiana State University Health Science Center and maxillofacial prosthodontic training at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, a member of the American Dental Association among other organizations. He has a dual clinical appointment as a consultant in the Department of Dental Specialties devoting his practice to rehabilitation of patients requiring prosthodontic care.
He maintains several editorial review positions with the International Journal of Prosthodontics, International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. He is also on the Editorial Council of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. His research interests include biomechanical aspects of dental materials; implant prosthodontics, and clinical outcome studies.
Abstract

Assist. Prof. Dr. Anna Knaus graduated in 1981 from Medical University of Vienna becoming Doctor of general medicine. She worked between 1981 and 1989 in hospitals in Carinthia, Vienna and as a General practitioner. In 1991 she became specialist in dentistry graduating from Dental University of Vienna.
Dr. Knaus is focused especially on wax-up courses, treatment of complex cases, outpatient center for tinnitus and implant prosthetic.

Prof. Dr. med. dent. Irena Sailer works as a head of Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials at the University of Geneva and also as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, Robert Schattner Center, School of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA (Head: Prof. Dr. M.B. Blatz).
Irena Sailer received her dental education and Dr. med. dent. degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tübingen, Germany in 1997/ 1998. In 2003 Dr. Sailer received an Assistant Professorship at the Clinic of Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and Dental Material Sciences in Zurich. From 2010 to 2013 she was an Associate Professor at the same clinic. In 2007 Dr. Sailer was a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Biomaterials and Biomimetics, Dental College, New York University, USA. Additionally, since 2009 she has been holding an Adjunct Associate Professorship at the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, Robert Schattner Center, School of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. Irena Sailer is a Specialist for Prosthodontics (Swiss Society for Reconstructive Dentistry), and holds a specialization degree for Dental Implantology (WBA) of the Swiss Society for Dentistry.

Professor Norina Forna, PhD, DDS is Dean of Faculty of Dental Medicine at University of Medicine and Pharmacy „Grigore T. Popa”, Iasi, Romania.
She is Vice-President and Ambassador for Romania of International Congress of Oral Implantologists (SUA) and Confederation of Deans of the Dental Medicine Faculties with Total or Partial French Expression. She is president of the International Society of General and Oro-Maxillo-Facial Rehabilitation Forum Odontologicum, Switzerland.
Among her membership in scientific societies could be mentioned International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Leading Board of Balkan Stomatological Society, Pierre Fauchard Academy, USA, National Academy of Dental Surgery, France, Royal College of Surgeons of Englands, Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences and Romanian Academy of Scientists.
Since 2007 she acts as a trainer in Diplome d`Universite de Chirurgie et d`Implantologie Orale (DUCIO).
She is an author of 22 monographs, 2 treaties, 9 textbooks and 2 book chapters, over 30 articles ISI indexed, over 40 articles PUBMED and BDI indexed and over 400 articles published in abstract or in extensor in the volumes of national and international scientific manifestations.
Abstract

Professor Nicola West is a graduate of the University of Wales College of Medicine (Cardiff). After attaining her fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Nicola gained her PhD from the University of Wales (Cardiff) in 1995, on dentine hypersensitivity and tooth surface loss. Nicola gained her chair in Periodontology at Bristol Dental School, where she conducts research, leading the Clinical Trials Unit and attracting substantial industrial funding. A particular sphere of interest includes the management of peri-implantitis lesions. Nicola lectures widely on this topic and is a co-author of the Association of Dental Implantology guidelines for management of peri-implantitis 2013. Current research interests include: developing research methodologies, periodontal conditions, bone augmentation and peri-implant lesions, the scientific evaluation of oral health care products, tooth wear, dentine hypersensitivity and tooth whitening. She is also an Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry.
Nicola lectures regularly in the national and international forum, is an active member and secretary of the British Society of Periodontology and currently is the regional postgraduate tutor for the British Society of Periodontology in the South West of England. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a UK member of the International Standards Committee.
Abstract

Juliette Reeves is a dental hygienist and trained nutritionist with over thirty years experience. She writes regularly for the international dental press and is an editorial advisor to a number of dental journals. Juliette is a Key opinion leader for Philips Oral Healthcare, senior UK tutor to the Swiss Dental Academy and Clinical Director of Perio-Nutrition.
She has received training in implant maintenance from academies in Geneva, Liechtenstein and the US and was the first dental hygienist elected on to the committee of the Association of Dental Implantology. Juliette is an international speaker and regularly presents post graduate seminars and hands on training in the UK and abroad. Juliette recently received a lifetime achievement award for Outstanding Contribution to Dental Hygiene and Therapy.

Prof. Dr. Cees de Baat, Ph.D. is professor emeritus in Gerodontology of Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
His specific interests are gerodontology, geriatrics, prosthetic dentistry, tooth wear and halitosis. He is (co-)author of many publications in peer reviewed journals and books and professional journals and editor of several textbooks in the Dutch language.
He is a co-founder of the Dutch Society of Gerodontology and the European College of Gerodontology and served both as Secretary and President.
During the year 2012, he was President of the European Prosthodontic Association. From 2002 until 2012, he was Editor-in-chief of the Dutch Journal of Dentistry.
Abstract

Dr. Alberto Fonzar was born in Gorizia in 1959. He graduated Cum Laude in 1986 in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Trieste and in 1989 earned his specialization in Dentistry and Prosthodontics at the University of Pisa.
Since 1996, he and his sister Dr. Federica Fonzar have directed their multidisciplinary private practice 'Stomatologico Friulano “E.Fonzar”' in Campoformido (Udine).
Over the last 25 years, Dr. Fonzar has specialized in Periodontology, Implantology and Prosthodontics, becoming one of the top European experts in his field.
He is an active member and Past-President of The Italian Society of Periodontology (S.I.d.P.) where he has held the role of both Treasurer and Secretary on the Executive Board. He is also visiting professor at the Univerity of Triest and Siena and a member of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry (AIOP) and of the International College of Dentists. Dr. Fonzar is involved in numerous clinical studies. Several Italian and international publications have reported his scientific research projects. Dr. Fonzar frequently lectures throughout Europe at conferences and congresses dealing with Periodontology.
Abstract

MUDr. Ivo Marek, Ph.D., graduated in dentistry from the Faculty of Medicine, Palacký University in Olomouc in 1990. He completed a three years training programme of orthodontics in 1999 and finished postgraduate study of orthodontics at the Orthodontic Department of Dental School, Palacký University in Olomouc in 2007, with PhD degree. Dr. Marek keeps his private dental practice in Breclav which focuses on interdisciplinary dental care. Dr. Marek works as associate professor at Orthodontic Department of Dental School, Palacký University in Olomouc.
He has published 30 articles and has given over 150 lectures in the Czech Republic and abroad.
He is a vice president of the Czech Orthodontic Society, member of the EOS, AAO, member of accreditation committee of the Ministry of Healthcare and representative of the Czech Orthodontic Society in EFOSA and AAO Ambassador.
Abstract

Dr Närhi graduated as a DDS at the University of Turku, Finland, in 1986. He completed his PhD Thesis in the University of Helsinki, Finland, in 1994 where he also got his specialist training in prosthetic dentistry. In 1995-1996 dr. Närhi worked as a visiting professor at the University of Iowa, USA.
From 1996 to 1998 he was employed as a senior teacher in the Sector of Oral Function at the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
Since 1998 dr. Närhi has hold a teacher position at the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry and Biomaterials Science University of Turku, Finland.
In 2006 he was appointed as a professor of Prosthetic Dentistry. He holds a part time position as a chief hospital dentist in the Clinic of Oral Diseases at the Turku University Central Hospital.
He is a former president (2004-2005) of the IADR Implant Research Group and the European College on Gerodontology (2003-2004). He was the president of the European Prosthodontic Association (2012-2013).
Professor Närhi has published over 100 articles in international and national scientific journals. He is a supervisor for nine PhD theses. His research is focused on biomaterials, implantology and gerodontology.
Abstract

Prof. MUDr. Antonín Šimůnek, CSc., graduated in 1977. He works in Department of Dentistry at the Teaching Hospital in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. Since 1992, he has been engaged in dental implantology and is a pioneer in this field in the Czech Republic.
Since 1997 he has been head of the Centre for Dental Implantology at the Teaching Hospital in Hradec Kralove. Prof. Šimůnek with his co-workers placed 32 000 dental implants. He has authored 230 publications and he has presented 350 lectures in the Czech Republic, Western and Eastern Europe and Orient.

Assoc. Prof. Ivo Drízhal, CSc., was born in 1939 in Prague. He graduated in 1962 in dentistry from Medical Faculty in Hradec Králové, Charles University. The second graduation obtained as Doctor of General Medicine at 1967. He started as general dental practitioner at Jaroměř in 1962. He took the position as Assistent Professor 1966 at Dental Department of Medical Faculty, Hradec Králové. He was appointed as the Head of Periodontal Department in 1970, where he worked till 2009. He is a part-time teacher. The tittle Associate Professor he obtained in 1991. He passed scholarship in Denmark, in Holland and Hungary. At Hamad Hospital in Qatar he was appointed as Consultant A. He was lecturing in Germany, Sweden, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, USA.
He published more than 150 articles in local and international journals. He is an author of monographs and textbooks. He presented more than 500 lectures.
He is the President of Czech Society of Periodontology, the Vicepresident of the Czech Dental Association.
Abstract

MUDr. Petr Barták graduated in dentistry in 1994 from 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. Currently, he acts as a teacher of prosthodontics at the same university.
He also works as a Head Doctor at Department of Dentistry, Asklepion - Clinic and Institute of Aesthetic Medicine in Prague. He teaches for Czech Dental Chamber in its further education system.
He is a member of Czech Society of Prosthetic Dentistry, Czech Club of Implantology and of American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Barták also works as a reviewer for dental periodics: LKS Journal, Stomatology Edu Journal and as a member in editorial board of Quintessenz Journal.
He is an author of dozens of lectures and workshops for dentists and dental – students and author and co-author of many articles home and abroad. He also participates in implant systems development.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suresh Nayar, BDS, MDS is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Alberta, Canada and a Maxillofacial Prosthodontist at the Institute for Reconstructive Sciences in Medicine (iRSM) Edmonton, Canada.
Dr Nayar obtained his training in Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry and was awarded Specialty memberships from Royal Colleges of Glasgow and Edinburgh and a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FDSRCS) in 2008. He also completed a Research Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in 2012.
He was the past Honorary Secretary of the British Society of Prosthodontics and currently acts as the International Representative on this body. He also works as the Honorary Web Editor of the European Prosthodontic Association.

Jürgen Manfred Setz
Prof. Dr. med. dent. Jürgen Manfred Setz, Ph.D. was born in 1959. He graduated in dentistry from University of Düsseldorf in 1982. In the same year he defended Doctor-Thesis and became a Dentist and Lecturer at the Department of Prosthodontics at the University Hospital of Dental School in Düsseldorf.
After serving as a Dentist in German Army in 1984-1985 he became a Dentist and Lecturer at the Department of Prosthodontics at the University Hospital of Dental School at University of Tübingen. He defended his PhD-Thesis in 1992 and in the same year was appointed Deputy Head of Department of Prosthodontics at University of Tübingen. In 1995 and 1996 he also worked as a Lecturer at University of London, Queen Mary’s School of Medicine and Dentistry at The Royal London Hospital.
Since 1998 he has been Professor, Head and Chair of Department of Prosthodontics at Martin Luther University, Halle (Saale).
Abstract

Assoc. Prof. MUDr. Roman Šmucler, CSc., was born in 1969 in Prague. He works as an Associated Professor at Charles University Prague and as the Vice-Chair of Department of Dentistry. He is the chairman of ASKLEPION Group. He also teaches as a Visiting Professor at schools in USA, Korea and Germany.
He is a member of 12 scientific organisations. Among others, since 2002 he has been the European Delegate of American Academy of Implant Dentistry, since 2013 the Chairman of Society of Aesthetic and Laser Medicine of Czech Medical Society of J.E. Purkyně and he is a fellow of American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
He is an author of 3 monographs, 4 chapters in monographs, he published 16 original studies in indexed journals and 36 other scientific papers. Dr. Šmucler wrote 86 popular medical papers and gave 139 lectures, from which 66 were presented internationally.
He was awarded with State prize for Medical Science in 2008 and he is a Honorary member of Czech Medical Society of J.E. Purkyně.
Abstract

Prof. Dr. Angus W. G. Walls, Ph.D. works as the Director of Edinburgh Dental Institute and is Vice President of IADR. Professor Walls graduated from Newcastle University in 1979. He undertook basic clinical training in Bristol and Stoke on Trent before returning to Newcastle for an MRC clinical training fellowship leading to his PhD. He has held a variety of posts in Newcastle before being appointed as Professor of Restorative Dentistry in 1994.
He has also served as President of the British Society for Gerodontology, the British Society for Restorative Dentistry and the British Society for Oral and Dental Research. He is Chair and Honorary Director of the Oral and Dental Research Trust and has written extensively on the topic of ageing as it affects people and dental practices including two text books and in excess of 100 published articles.
Angus Walls is a clinical scientist and Prosthodontist. His research and clinical interests over the last 20-years have focussed on the oral health problems of older people and the relationships between oral health, nutrition and function in older people.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Albert Waning obtained academic degrees in behavioral sciences, education and communication.
He has been working since 1981. He produced more than 2000 lectures for dentists in 48 countries.
His guest lecturing includes 48 universities in 22 countries.
He also worked as an editor - 4 years in Benelux dental magazine, 10 years in Fenestra dental magazine. Moreover, he published more than 180 articles in popular press.
He performed a research project “Evidence based dentistry in general practice”, including 3000 dentists in 24 countries (2004-2006).  He has been a Honorary Lecturer University of Birmingham since 2001 and an Associate Professor University of Iasi since 2008.

Assoc. Prof. MUDr. et MUDr. René Foltán, Ph.D., FEBOMFS, graduated in dentistry in 1993 and in general medicine in 1999, both from Medical Faculty of Charles University, Hradec Králové.
In 2007 he accomplished his PhD study at 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University, Prague, with thesis "Genioglossus advancement in Obstructive Sleep Apnoe therapy". He also studied in the University Hospital Zürich, Department of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, Switzerland. He habilitated at 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University, Prague, with thesis "Surgical treatment of skeletal Class II malocclusions".
Between 1994-1996 he worked as a Senior House Officer, dep. of Stomatology, 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University, Prague, and from 1996 until 2000 as an Assistant Profesor at Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the same faculty.
In 2000-2001 he experienced several positions in the United Kingdom.
In 2011 he became an Associated Professor at Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
In 2012 became Member of Dean’s Board and Head of Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Since 2014 he has been appointed Head of School of Dentistry.
Between 2003-2008 he was Czech Republic Councilor for International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and since 2008 he has been Councilor of Czech Republic in The European Association for Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Foltán presented as invited speaker about 40 papers in the Czech Republic and abroad and he published 42 scientific articles.
Abstract

MUDr. et MUDr. Jiří Krug, Ph.D., (born 1966), graduated from Faculty of Medicine Charles University in Hradec Králové in both dental (1989) and general medicine (1996). In 1999, he defended Ph.D. thesis (management of TM joint disorders). During 12 years (1992–2003) he worked as a maxillofacial surgeon in Faculty hospitals. Since 2003, works as an oral surgeon in private Centre of dental implantology in Prague. Since 2012, organizes ITI Study Club Praha as a director and ITI fellow.

MUDr. Josef Kučera obtained his dental degree at the Charles University in Prague in 2004. After 3-year training program at the same University he gained his degree in Orthodontics in 2009. Currently, he is an assistant professor there and a PhD student at the Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. He is also running his private orthodontic office in Prague. His main scientific interest is the retention and stability in orthodontics.

Prof. Dr. med. dent. Bjarni E. Pjetursson, DDS, MAS Perio, PhD, received his DDS from University of Iceland in 1990. From 1990 to 2000 he worked as a general dentist in his private clinic in Iceland. In 2000 he started his postgraduate training in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the University of Bern, Switzerland. He received his specialist certificate (EFP & SSP) and Masters of Advanced Studies in Periodontology and Doctorate in Dentistry (Dr. med. dent) from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Bern, Switzerland. From 2003 to 2005 he did his postgraduate training in Prosthodontics at the University of Berne, Switzerland. In 2014 he received his PhD from Faculty of Odontology, University of Iceland.
From 2005 he was Assistant Professor and Senior lecturer at the Department of Periodontology and Fixed Prosthodontics, University of Berne. Presently he is a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Reconstructive Dentistry and Dean, Faculty of Odontology, University of Iceland. Dr. Pjetursson is an ITI Fellow and member of the editorial board of Clinical Oral Implants Research, European Journal for Oral Implantology. He has been publishing extensively in recent years. He has also given over 500 lectures in more than 40 countries around the world. His research interests are clinical studies in implant dentistry and evidenced based evaluation of different treatment modalities in implant- and prosthetic dentistry.

MUDr. Pavel Kříž, PhD graduated from the Faculty of Stomatology at the Medical Faculty of Charles University in Hradec Králové in 1994. After two years work in Military University Hospital in Prague, he was selected to be head of Department of Stomatology at Military Airport Prague. This residency provided him with advanced training in all the specialties of dentistry (general stomatology attestation in 1996). In 1999, Dr. Kříž opened his private practice specialized in implantology and parodontology in Prague.
Since 2006 he has been working as an assistant professor while holding staff positions at Department of Stomatology for children and adults, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague and Faculty Hospital Motol. He received PhD degree in 2012 in Biomedical informatics with thesis „Decision support system in dental implantology - quality of life of patients with implants“.
Dr. Kříž is focused especially on implantology for young patients who need complex care. He is a (co)author of scientific papers in Czech language and in international magazines with impact factor dealing with dental implantology and an author of practical advanced courses.
Abstract

Peter U. Gehrke, Dr. med. dent., completed his graduate studies at the University of Berlin School of Dental Medicine in Germany in 1991, where he received his Approbation as Dentist and his degree as Dr. med. dent. in 1992. Dr. Gehrke pursued postgraduate specialities in Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry in Germany and was awarded the Schering Pharmaceutical Industries Scholarship. He graduated from New York University College of Dentistry with international postdoctoral training in the Division of Restorative and Prosthodontic Sciences Department of Implant Dentistry.
Prior to becoming an associate of a private practice focused to implant dentistry and oral surgery, he worked as international marketing manager and senior manager medical marketing in the implant industry. Dr. Gehrke has practiced in Germany and the U.S.A. and serves as a part-time member of the faculty at the Steinbeis University, Berlin, in the program “Master of Science in Oral Implantology”. He is co-author of the text book „Fundamentals of Esthetic Implant Dentistry“ (Blackwell Publishing), has authored innumerable articles. He also lectures nationally and internationally on implant macro- and micro design, biomechanics, and implant prosthodontics.
Dr. Gehrke is a member of the Editorial Board of JDI, The Journal of Dental Implantology and an active member of the Academy of Osseointegration, the European Association for Osseointegration, the International College of Prosthodontics, and the German Society of Implantology (DGI).

George Papavasiliou, DDS, MSc, PhD, FICD, graduated from the Dental School, University of Athens, Greece. He received a Certificate in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science from the University of North Carolina, USA. He taught as an Assistant Professor at the same University. He received his PhD from the University of Athens. He was elected to his current position of Tenured Assistant Professor, University of Athens, in 2007. He has been the Coordinator of Graduate Prosthodontics Program for over 10 years. The last 15 years he is conducting research in biomaterials and implants. He has published over 50 scientific papers, which were cited numerous times. He has given lectures and scientific presentations in over 18 countries worldwide and he is a Reviewer for scientific journals. George Papavasiliou holds a Private Practice limited to Prosthodontics and Implants since 1995.

Prof. PhDr. Miroslav Verner, DrSc. graduated in Egyptology and Prehistory from Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Arts, Czech Republic, in 1965.
Since 1966 he has been working for Czech Institute of Egyptology, Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague. He directed the project „Research on the Ancient Egyptian Civilization“
In 2012 he was appointed professor. He has been giving numerous lectures in Egyptology (Introduction to Egyptology, Egyptian History, Egyptian Archeology, Old hieratic palaeography, Seminar in Egyptian archaeology). He is visiting professor at University of Vienna, Austria, University of Hamburg, Germany, American University in Cairo, Egypt, College de France, Paris, France.
From 1964 to 2011 he took part in field work in Egypt under direction of Zbyněk Žába, František Váhala and between 1976 and 2011 as a director of the excavations of the Czechoslovak Institute of Egyptology at Abusir.
From foreign institutions he is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Egyptologists, Committee of UNESCO for Museum of Nubia in Aswan and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo, Paris and also a honorary member of the German Archaeological Institute, Berlin and of the Austrian Archaeolog. Institute, Vienna.
He was awarded with State Order of Merit II in 1998.
He is an author or co-author of 25 monographs, he published a number of scientific articles in international egyptological journals.
